The Liberian Swedish Association (LSA) family deeply mourns the passing of the late Senator, Madam Geraldine Doe Sheriff of Montserrado County, Liberia. According to reports from Front Page Africa news outlets and sources close to the family, Senator Sheriff succumbed to cancer after bravely battling the disease for over a year. Her journey led her to seek medical care at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, where she passed away at approximately 05:15 PM (GMT) on Saturday, February 9, 2019.
Throughout her tenure, the late Senator served her country with unwavering dedication under the leadership of both Liberia's former president, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and its current president, Dr. George M. Weah.
