Our Condolences to family of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine

One of Liberia's outstanding sons,
Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine the founder and political leader of the Liberian Liberty Party (LP) was pronounced dead on Wednesday afternoon (November 20, 2019). According to the Liberian news outlet, the FrontPage Africa, Mr. Brumskine was sick for a long period and underwent medical treatment for cancer at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Mr. Brumskine was said to have left the hospital months ago and received treatment at his home in Virginia, USA, but was taken back to the hospital when his condition worsened until doctors pronounced him dead on Wednesday afternoon.
Family and friend described the deceased as a Liberty Party icon, a dedicated family man, an outstanding lawyer, and as one of Liberia's dedicated and prominent politicians.
Mr. Brumskine as a politician contested for the Liberian presidency thrice. He contested in the 2005 elections, the 2011, and the 2017 elections respectively. Before embarking on these political journeys, Mr. Brumskine served as the President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate in 1997, under the leadership of former President Charles Taylor. In addition, Mr. Brumskine also established one of Liberia's leading law firm, the Brumskine & Associates law firm, where he remained a senior partner until his death.
In light of this unfortunate circumstance, we the members and supporters of the Liberian Swedish Association, LSA, extends our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. And, we pray that the divine and almighty Heavenly Father comfort them in this difficult period. May the soul of the deceased, Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine and all those that are decreased rest in perpetual peace.
