EFLA & LAN to Host The 2023 July 26th Celebration and EFLA's Annual General Assembly in Amsterdam

Updated: Feb 22

The European Federation of Liberian Associations, ELFA, in collaboration with the Liberian Association of the Netherlands, LAN, will host the 2023 joint Liberian Independence Day celebration in Amsterdam.

The celebration will span three days: Friday, July 28th, Saturday, July 29th, and Sunday, July 30th, 2023. A series of activities are planned for these days to commemorate the occasion. EFLA's Annual General Assembly (AGA) is also scheduled during this year's festivity in Amsterdam. EFLA's executive members, consisting of leaders from EFLA and heads of Liberian Associations (active EFLA members) across Europe, will convene to discuss pertinent issues for the federation's progress and growth.

Moreover, EFLA will conduct a general election at this year's AGA to select a new set of officials to manage the federation's affairs for the next two years. The current leadership's second term will conclude in July of this year, led by Mr. Mayango Clarance Arku as President, Mrs. Haja Sesay as Vice President, Mr. Francis Mensah as Secretary General, and Dr. Liana Ursa as Financial Secretary.

LAN has outlined the itinerary for this year's celebration as follows:

  • FRIDAY, July 28th, 2023:

Meet & Greet (Sport)

EFLA's Annual General Assembly (AGA) (General Election)

  • SATURDAY, July 29th, 2023:

Red Carpet Ball

Other activities

  • SUNDAY, July 30th, 2023:

Grill and Barbecue to culminate the festivity.

The leadership of both organizations, EFLA and LAN, encourage Liberians across Europe and elsewhere to save the date and make plans to participate in this year's event in Amsterdam, so we can all celebrate MAMA Liberia in grand style!
