"A walk to keep fit and educate girls in Sierra Leone".

Updated: Feb 23

The Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund is dedicated to advancing education for young girls in Sierra Leone, and they're gearing up for an impactful initiative to raise funds and awareness. On Saturday, June 1st, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, they will be hosting a "walk to keep fit and educate girls in Sierra Leone" event in Upplands Vasby, Stockholm.

Participation in this meaningful event requires a registration fee of only 250kr, which includes a commemorative t-shirt and healthy refreshments. The goal is not only to promote physical fitness but also to contribute to the education and empowerment of girls in Sierra Leone.

Peagie Foday, the founder of the Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund, along with her dedicated team, extend a warm invitation to all members of the Liberian Swedish Association (LSA) community and other communities in Sweden to join them in support of this worthy cause.

Established in 2013, the Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization registered in Sweden, the USA, and Sierra Leone. Their mission is twofold: to empower girls through education and to showcase Sierra Leone in Sweden. Currently, the organization supports 184 girls, with 10 in university and the remainder in secondary schools. They also assist teenage mothers in returning to school and provide free daycare services for their children. Additionally, the organization operates after-school programs for young girls in its resource centers, which are equipped with libraries, daycare facilities, health rooms, and playgrounds. Through mentoring workshops and fundraising events like the charity walk, the organization sustains its projects and endeavors.

Education is viewed by the Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund as a pivotal tool for fostering the development of young girls in Sierra Leone, empowering them to become independent and self-reliant women in the future. Education not only imparts knowledge but also lays the groundwork for meaningful careers, builds character, fosters critical thinking, and contributes to the overall advancement of society.

By participating in the "Walk to Keep Fit and Educate Girls in Sierra Leone" event, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in someone's life. Join hands with the Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund and be a part of this impactful journey toward education and empowerment.
